Solar Pool Heating Systems are simple in their operation. You already have the pump and the reservoir (the pool) . . . all we’re adding is the collector array and a valve system to divert the water through the collector when there is heat to be gained. A fail-safe valving system must be installed to insure no water is left standing in the collectors during freezing weather.

Solar Pool Heating Systems are sized from the surface area of the pool. Typically the collector area will be 50% or more of the surface area. Local weather conditions, type of pool (in ground or above ground) and the length of the swimming season are all factors in selecting the size and type of collector panels. Summer season heating is normally accomplished with collectors that are absorber plates only (Copper or Poly ). Radiant Floor Heating

This “renaissance” technology is becoming the preferred heating system choice for
discriminating architects and builders. Its popularity is easy to understand. Radiant heat is the most comfortable form of heat for the human body and is 20-30% more efficient!   The main consideration in radiant floor heating is proper design. There are many variables in floor coverings and construction techniques that must be addressed, but if you pay attention to details, the final product is a homeowner’s “dream-come-true”.

Where conventional heating systems depend on warm air circulation, hydronic radiant floors radiate the heat directly from the floor. This method proves to be the most efficient because warm air will travel in the direction of least resistance, UP!

Radiant floors help reduce heating costs by:

(1) Addressing the comfort of the occupants, not the air, so thermostats can be set on the lower setting.

(2) Providing temperature zone control. You can control the amount of heat flowing to unused areas in your home.

(3) Keeping temperatures throughout the room constant. There is no turning the system on/off like a conventional system to accommodate temperature changes. This factor can reduce heat loss by 25% which equates to significant dollar savings.

Radiant heating eliminates the need for blowers and ducts which often distribute dust and allergens throughout the home. The radiant floor system is a collection of major components, a heat source, tubes throughout the floors and or towel warmers, baseboard heaters, radiators, switches, valves, manifolds, piping and thermostats.

Similar “green pricing” strategies are being made available in Idaho, Wisconsin, Southern California, Nevada and Hawaii.

In addition, some states such as Oregon, North Carolina, Hawaii and Arizona, offer tax credits for the installation of PV systems. These tax credits can range up to $1,500 and are real money back to you.
